GlassLine Fibre
GlassLine Fibre realized that in order to stay competitive in a tough market they would need to replace their aging systems, including their mainframe. In order to minimize the impact of the project on their cash flow, they wanted the implementation to be as cash neutral as possible. The entire project was funded through cost savings, resulting in a positive cash flow throughout the run of the project. Savings were achieved as planned while the project remained on schedule and under budget.
Entering the electricity market
An important player in the European gas industry faces new challenges and opportunities from gas deregulation and public shareholding. The company decided to grow a material presence in the domestic electricity market. The objectives are two-fold: Retain gas customers through dual offerings, and become a primary challenger to the major state owned electricity supplier. The company decided to implement a range of specific applications to support the new activities. Eidolon was entrusted with the challenge to address two core business solutions, pricing and demand forecasting. While pricing focuses on the management of offers and contracts to fit client needs, demand forecasting ensures optimal energy purchases to avoid imbalance penalties. Both solutions play a key role to manage profitability of the retail business, which typically displays small margins in deregulated markets.
Northern European Telco
A large European operator with fixed-line, mobile and Internet assets wanted to implement a fully integrated, strategic, end-to-end inventory management system across all of the fixed infrastructure for its fixed, mobile and data networks. Over the years our client's networks had become increasingly complex, dynamic, and therefore more challenging to manage with traditional approaches. It needed a system capable of delivering a graphical, end-to-end representation of its circuits and systems for all its fixed line transmission circuits and equipment, and for the fixed elements of its wireless network. Today our client is better able to manage its essential assets: while infrastructure can be purchased, it is managing the cost and delivery of what it sells, and this is the key to its profitability
